Wildfire Mitigation Strategy
The Wildfire Risk Assessment and Wildfire Mitigation Strategy, created in 2026, were initiated to help Lac du Bonnet better understand where the highest risks exist and what actions will most effectively reduce these risks. This work supports broader goals to improve emergency preparedness, strengthen interagency coordination, enhance access to wildfire mitigation funding, guide land use and policy decisions, and provide a consistent framework for incorporating FireSmart principles into municipal planning and operations.

2026 Fire SMART Survey results
The results of the EMO's 2026 Fire SMART survey are now available.
The results will help the municipality develop strategies to further advance Fire SMART initiatives.
